Tom Hanks’ BIG Getting Small Screen Adaptation

TV show remake in the works…

The Wrap has learned that 20th Century Fox Television Studios has plans for a half-hour comedy loosely based on the 1988 Penny Marshall-directed comedy ‘Big.’

Starring Tom Hanks, Elizabeth Perkins, Robert Loggia, John Heard, and Jared Rushton, the comedy saw Hanks playing Josh Baskin, a young boy who makes a wish “to be big” at a magical Zoltar Speaks machine, and wakes up as the adult version of himself, literally over night. The film earned Hanks his first Oscar nomination.

According TheWrap, the small screen adaptation is described as an event series, and will explore “what it means to be an adult and what it means to be a kid, and how in today’s world those two things are more confused than ever.”

Kevin Biegel (‘Enlisted,’ ‘Cougar Town’) and Mike Royce (‘Enlisted,’ ‘Men of a Certain Age’) are on board to write and produce, via 20th Century Fox Television Studios.
