Tim Burton May Visit MISS PEREGRINE

Developing supernatural tale as potential directing project.

Tim Burton is in early talks to develop an adaptation of the Ransom Riggs book, ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children,’ reports Deadline.

Released in June, the book follows Jacob, a 16-year-old whose childhood was filled with stories his grandfather told him about an orphanage for unusual children. When his grandfather dies, Jacob heads off to his grandfather’s home on an isolated island off Wales. There he discovers the abandoned remains of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores the orphanage he begins to discover that the children were more than peculiar, they might have been there because they were dangerous.

Burton will be involved in working with a writer to adapt the tale, and will have the first offer to direct. The director recently wrapped on his adaptation of the classic TV series ‘Dark Shadows’ starring Johnny Depp.
