Thomas Jane and Jessica Alba Lift THE VEIL

Jane and Alba to lead Blumhouse-produced horror…

Thomas Jane (‘Drive Hard,’ ‘The Mist’) is set to reunite with his ‘The Punisher: Dirty Laundry’ director Phil Joanou for the micro-budget indie horror thriller ‘The Veil,’ with Jessica Alba (‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For,’ ‘Stretch’) in talks for the female lead.

Details on the plot come via THR, the story begins “thirty years ago, when members of a religious cult known as Heaven’s Veil take their own lives. The truth behind what really happened remains buried deep in the memory of the sole survivor, a five-year-old girl, who returns to the compound with a documentary crew as an adult. They soon discover something that is far more terrifying than anything they could have imagined.“

The screenplay was penned by Robert Ben Garant (‘Night at the Museum,’ ‘Reno 911’) based on real-world headlines of cults and mass suicides.

Filming is planned for April, with Garant producing alongside Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions.
