Theroux to write Iron Man sequel

Justin Theroux to pen sequel.

Iron Man 2 has its scribe and it’s the somewhat unexpected Justin Theroux.

Marvel has handed the armour over to Theroux, best known for his roles in ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle’ and TV series ‘Six Feet Under’.

The comic book giant’s film division is close to finalising the deal with helmer Jon Favreau and star Robert Downey Jr. for the pic it hopes to release in April 2010.

The actor turned director (Dedication) and now scribe recently made his screenwriting debut on the Ben Stiller comedy ‘Tropic Thunder’ (also starring the Iron clad Man – Robert Downey Jr.).

‘Iron Man,’ released in May, has earned more than $314 million at the American box office and collected another $252 million overseas. So it’s not suprising the studio is pushing for  a speedy sequel, but is Theorux right for the job. What do you think?
