Will lead the spin-off film…
British actor Theo James, last seen starring alongside Shailene Woodley in ‘Divergent,’ has been cast as the lead actor Lakeshore Entertainment’s fifth outing of the ‘Underworld’ franchise.’
James is no stranger to the franchise, having played a vampire named David in 2013’s ‘Underworld: Awakening.’
According to Heat Vision, the plan is for the film to expand the vampire vs. werewolves universe with David playing the male lead opposite two new female characters. Casting is underway for those roles. Kate Beckinsale is not expected to return.
Cory Goodman (‘The Last Witch Hunter,’ ‘Priest’) is on board to pen the script with Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi producing.
