Olivia Wilde no longer co-starring.
Aussie star Sam Worthington (‘Wrath of the Titans,’ ‘Avatar’) has signed on to star in ‘The Keeping Room’ alongside ‘True Grit’ star Hailee Steinfeld and Nicole Beharie (‘Shame’).
With ‘Harry Brown’ helmer Daniel Barber directing, the period drama tells the story of three Southern women – two sisters and one African American slave – who, left without men in the dying days of the Civil War, are forced to defend their home from the onslaught of a band of soldiers who have broken off from the fast approaching Union Army.
In addition to Worthington, Deadline is hearing that Brit Marling (‘Sound of My Voice’) has also joined the cast, taking a role previously occupied by Olivia Wilde.
Principal photography is set for June with Barber working from a screenplay by Julia Hart.
