Smith and Chan to return…
Director Breck Eisner (‘The Crazies,’ ‘Sahara’) has been tapped to take the reins of ‘Karate Kid 2,’ according to Deadline.
Harald Zwart directed the 2010 remake with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan starring. The film was made on a budget of $40 million and grossed $343 million worldwide. Smith and Chan are expected to reprise their roles for the follow-up.
Will Smith will once again produce with Overbrook Entertainment partners James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz. Zak Penn (‘Avengers Assemble,’ ‘X-Men 2’) is providing the script.
