THE FIGHTER Scribes to Adapt BOSTON STRONG

Film will deal with the Boston marathon bombing

Mike Fleming over at Deadline has learned that Oscar-nominated ‘The Fighter’ scribes Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy have nabbed the rights Casey Sherman and Boston Herald reporter Dave Wedge’s forthcoming book ‘Boston Strong.’

Set to arrive on bookshelves next year, the book examines the city’s reaction to the fatal April 15th attacks at the Boston Marathon finish line and the hunt for the siblings responsible for the bombing.

‘Boston Strong’ is the second non-fiction book by Sherman that Johnson and Tamasy have adapted, the first being the ‘Finest Hours’ deals with a 1952 Coast Guard oil tanker rescue. That project is set up over at Disney and has Robert Schwentke (‘R.I.P.D.’ ‘Red’) attached to direct.
