Dern and Wolff join ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ adaptation.
‘Enlightened’ star Laura Dern and Nat Wolff (‘Admission’) have signed on for keys roles alongside Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort in ‘The Fault In Our Stars.’
Based on John Green’s young adult novel of the same name, the story tells the heartbreaking love story of Hazel (Woodley) and Augustus (Elgort), two teenagers who meet at a cancer support group and fall in love. Despite facing their own mortality, the two bolster each other’s spirits with humour as they bravely face an uncertain future.
TheWrap has Dern taking the role of Hazel’s mother, while EW adds that Wolff is set to play Isaac, the best friend of Elgort’s character.
Production is gearing up to begin next month in Pittsburgh with Josh Boone (‘Stuck In Love’) in the director’s chair.
