THE CROW Remake Puts Corin Hardy In The Director's Chair

British filmmaker to direct remake…

Mike Fleming over at Deadline has learned that award-winning music video and shorts director Corin Hardy is to take the helm of the upcoming remake of ‘The Crow.’

Luke Evans (‘The Hobbit,’ ‘High-Rise,’ ‘Dracula Untold’) is attached to lead the “gritty reboot” which follows the iconic character of Eric Draven, who returns from the grave as The Crow on a mission to avenge his fiancé’s murder so that his soul can finally rest.

Hardy replaces F. Javier Gutierrez, who was originally set to direct before jumping ship to direct the next entry in ‘The Ring’ franchise.

‘The Crow’ will mark Hardy’s second directorial effort. His feature debut, the Irish folk horror ‘The Hallow’ starring Joseph Mawle (‘Game Of Thrones’) and Bojana Novakovic (‘Edge Of Darkness’), Michael McElhatton (‘Shadow Dancer’), and Michael Smiley (‘A Field In England’), is released next year.

Hardy is best known for directing music videos for the likes of Devlin (‘Watchtower’ ft. Ed Sheeran), Biffy Clyro, Keane (‘Bedshaped’), Paolo Nutini (‘Pencil Full of Lead’) and The Prodigy (‘Warrior’s Dance’).
