THE CONJURING Spinoff ANNABELLE Lands Leads

Creepy doll from The Conjuring will return…

British actress Annabelle Wallis (‘Peaky Blinders,’ ‘The Tudors’) and Ward Horton (‘The Wolf of Wall Street’) have scored the leads in ‘Annabelle,’ Warner Bros. and New Line’s low-budget spinoff to James Wan’s supernatural thriller ‘The Conjuring.’

Veteran cinematographer John Leonetti will take the director’s chair for the spinoff, with the script by Gary Dauberman centring on the demonic Annabelle doll that appeared in Wan’s smash hit. You can read up on story of the real Annabelle doll here.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who starred in ‘The Conjuring’ as real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, are not in the spinoff. New Line is still in development on a direct sequel to ‘The Conjuring.’

Peter Safran is on board to produce, with Wan serving as executive producer. Filming on the project is set for the end of the month in Los Angeles.
