The Batman, Aquaman & Wonder Woman 1984 Coming To DC FanDome online event

For many film fans San Diego’s Comic-Con is the first time they’ll get a taste for some of the latest blockbusters coming to cinemas, sadly with the world on hold due to the covid-19 pandemic all global comic-con events have been cancelled, so studios have had to come up with creative ways to unleash some of the goodies being worked on at the moment. Warner Bros. this week announced that they are creating their own special event to highlight some of DC’s slate of comic book movies and TV shows.

Starting at 6pm Irish Time on August 22nd, DC FanDome will stream for free online and will be available for 24 hours. The virtual conference will reveal highly anticipated announcements and promises exclusive footage from upcoming titles. It could be the most extensive look yet at a number of high-profile projects, including Matt Reeves’ The Batman’, which began filming in March, James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’, which finished filming in February and Patty Jenkin’s ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, which is due to hit Irish cinemas in October. Other DC movies that we expect to hear about at the event include Black Adam, The Flash, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Aquaman and the Shazam! sequel.

The studio also promised exciting updates from it’s gaming division and a look at popular DC TV shows that include Doom Patrol, Black Lightning, DC Super Hero Girls, Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Lucifer, Pennyworth, Supergirl, Superman & Lois, Teen Titans GO!, Titans, Watchmen and Young Justice: Outsiders.

Ann Sarnoff, Chair and Chief Executive Officer, Warner Bros., said, “There is no fan like a DC fan. For more than 85 years, the world has turned to DC’s inspiring heroes and stories to lift us up and entertain us, and this massive, immersive digital event will give everyone new ways to personalise their journey through the DC Universe without lines, without tickets and without boundaries. With DC FanDome, we’re able to give fans from around the world an exciting and unparalleled way to connect with all their favourite DC characters, as well as the incredible talent who bring them to life on the page and screen.”
