The film is directed by, written by and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as a man whose addiction to porn creates unrealistic and damaging expectations in his personal life. Joseph began acting at the age of six with auditioning and landing small roles in commercials and television until he landed his breakout role in 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN.
… And he was so cute with his dodgy 90s haircuts! Not to mention 3RD ROCK was a great show.
After spending six seasons on 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN Joseph attended Columbia University in New York City, New York. He studied history, literature, and French poetry.
… He soon dropped out of college to return to acting in ‘good movies’, as he put it.
JGL replaced James Franco as Arthur in INCEPTION.
… We bet Franco is raging! Although his career ain’t going too bad!
Since his time in college, Joseph has become very interested in French art, and speaks French fluently.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt considered casting friend Channing Tatum in DON JON before taking the role himself.

LOOPER was the third collaboration between director Rian Johnson JGL, the first being Brick, and the second being a quick cameo in The Brothers Bloom as a bar patron with guitar.
