Ten things you need to know about Cristin Milioti

We bring you the facts about the THE WOLF OF WALL STREET actress…

THE WOLF OF WALL STREET may be dominated by male actors – Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Jean Dujardin, to name but three – but we loved Cristin Milioti’s performance as Teresa, so we took to opportunity to find out more about the actress.

Milioti enrolled at New York University for acting classes, but dropped out in her first year.
… She seems to be doing rather well, all the same.

Before she sets her sights on the screen, Cristin was best known for her work on Broadway.
… She starred in shows including THAT FACE and STUNNING.

Last year, Cristin was revealed to be the ‘Mother’ in HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.
… She even learned to play the bass for the role.

In 2012, Milioti earned a Tony Award nomination for her originating role in the Broadway version of ONCE.
… Of course, ONCE is a stage adaptation of the Irish film of the same name. Hurrah!

Cristin was sworn to secrecy about her role in HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, so much so that she couldn’t even tell her cast mates on ONCE.
… They had their suspicions though, when the cast turned up to watch the show.

During her screen test for THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, Milioti spilled her coffee on Leonardo DiCaprio.
… She must have done something right though, since she got the part!

Cristin appeared in an episode of 30 ROCK entitled TGS HATES WOMEN.
… Milioti played a flirty actress with a baby voice, who quickly became Jenna’s nemesis.

THE WOLF OF WALL STREET marks the second time Milioti has performed a script by Terence Winter.
… Winter also wrote an episode of THE SOPRANOS that she appeared in, an episode that was directed by Steve Buscemi.

Claiming that it causes self-doubt issues, Milioti tries to stay offline in order to not catch a bad review.
… So that Twitter account is not her.

Despite appearing on the show, in 2013, Cristin had seen very few episodes of THE SOPRANOS.
… In an interview with BuzzFeed, she said she’d recify that once she was finished binge watching VEEP and ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK. Hurrah! She’s just like us!

THE WOLF OF WALL STREET opens in Irish cinemas on January 17th
