Ten things you need to know about Aubrey Plaza

We bring you trivia about the star of THE TO-DO LIST

THE TO-DO LIST finally reaches Irish cinemas this weekend and, even though the film has a star-studded cast, it really is Aubrey Plaza’s movie. With that in mind, we gathered together some trivia about the actress arguably best known for playing April in TVs brilliant PARKS AND RECREATION…

The 29 year old actresses first role was in the 2006 film KILLSWITCH.
… Plaza’s character was called ‘Girl with massive head wound’. We can pretty much guess what her role was then!

Yes, Aubrey Plaza is her real name! She was named after the song ‘Aubrey’ by Bread, and Plaza just happens to be her family name.
… And a great one it is too!

Before she found fame on PARKS AND RECREATION, Plaza worked as an NBC Page.
… We wonder if she knows Kenneth from 30 ROCK. Oh wait…

She played Seth Rogen’s love interest, Daisy, in 2009’s FUNNY PEOPLE, directed by Judd Apatow.
… Prior to being cast in the film, she had never done stand up.

Plaza had a role in the 2006 movie MYSTERY TEAM, which was written by COMMUNITY’s Donald Glover.
… Glover also stars in THE TO-DO LIST. Small world!

Aubrey lent her voice to the English language version of FROM UP ON POPPY HILL, which was released in Irish cinemas earlier this year.
… Plaza voiced the college student who lives with lead character, Umi.

At the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, Plaza jumped onstage and tried to wrestle the Golden Popcorn Award statue from Will Ferrell’s hand during his acceptance speech; Ferrell integrated the interaction into his monologue as a planned moment, but the unscripted interruption led to Plaza’s ejection from the event.
… As well as media discussion of it being a ‘Kanye West moment’.

The part of Darius in SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED was written for Aubrey Plaza, because writer Derek Connolly wanted to work with her.
… And she did spectacularly well with the role.

As well as playing April in PARKS AND RECREATION, Plaza has appeared on TVs PORTLANDIA.
… Which is also brilliant. Seriously, watch it!

Plaza will next appear in A MANY SPLINTERED THING; a rom com from first time director Justin Reardon.
… The film also stars Anthony Mackie, Topher Grace, Giovanni Ribisi and Chris Evans. What a great cast!

THE TO-DO LIST is in Irish cinemas from Friday October 4th
