Tarsem Singh Takes Over THE PANOPTICON

Long-gesting project brings in new director.

Indian filmmaker Tarsem Singh (‘Mirror, Mirror,’ ‘Immortals,’ ‘The Fall’) has been tapped to take the reins of the action/sci-fi/thriller ‘The Panopticon’ for Good Universe, reports The Wrap.

Said to be in the vein of ‘12 Monkeys’ and ‘The Invasion,’ the story centres on Peter Burke, a highly intelligent but otherwise ordinary guy who receives a mysterious package containing a pre-recorded message from his younger self, warning that the world is about to end and only he can save it.

The long-in-development project was penned by Craig Rosenberg (‘The Quiet Ones,’ ‘7500,’ ‘After The Sunset’), who was originally set to direct.

Andrew Lazar (‘Get Smart’) is on board to produce, with Good Universe co-founders Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake serving as executive producers.
