TAKEN Director Sets Up THE HUNTER

Helmer takes aim with hitman thriller…

French filmmaker Pierre Morel (‘Taken,’ ‘District B13’) has signed on to direct a big screen adaptation of author Tom Wood’s 2010 novel ‘The Hunter,’ says Deadline.

The first in a series, the book centres on Victor, a mysterious, quick-witted and charismatic assassin whose conscience begins to catch up with him and as a result puts him at odds with his employers.

Producers on the project include Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman of The Picture Company, and Sentient Entertainment’s Renee Tab and Christopher Tuffin.

Morel’s latest offering, ‘The Guman’ starring Sean Penn, Idris Elba and Javier Bardem, arrives in Irish cinemas in the new year.
