Ang Lee casts Tabu in Life of Pi
Ang Lee has cast the Indian actress Tabu in his adaptation of Yann Martel’s novel.
Tabu will play the role of Pi’s mother in the picture; Suraj Singh was previously confirmed in the lead role of The Life of Pi, which will see him on his own among a group of animals for most of the film.
According to the Mumbai Mirror,: “Ang Lee had been watching Tabu’s work and was very impressed by her acting abilities.”
Based on the best-selling novel by Martel, the film follows the adventures of a young boy stranded in a lifeboat with only a zoo animals for company.
