Susanne Biers All You Need Is Love To Star Pierce Brosnan

Usually found tackling tough emotional subjects, Danish director Susanne Bier is looking to shift gears, and has written romantic comedy ‘All You Need is Love’ with Pierce Brosnan in mind to star.

Just off her Oscar win with youth-violence drama ‘In A Better World,’ Danish director Susanne Bier has lined up her next movie and it’s a departure from her usual weeping and anger filled family melodramas.

‘All You Need is Love’ is a romantic comedy starring Pierce Brosnan, Bier wrote the screenplay with Brosnan in mind for the lead role, though the story centers on a Danish family. “It’s a tender story with a much lighter atmosphere than my previous works: enough with conflicts,” is how she described the new script to Italian newspaper La Repubblica. But don’t expect it to be completely light and airy. While Brosnan tells the paper that it’s a “delightful love story,” he also cautions that it’s “a comedy which has punch and deals with loss and a great love.”

Bier previously directed the 2004 movie ‘Brødre’ which was adapted in English as ‘Brothers,’ a war drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire and Natalie Portman. In 2007 she made her Engish-language debut with ‘Things We Lost in the Fire,’ about a broken family starring Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro.

‘All You Need is Love’ is being prepped to shoot on the Amalfi coast in May and 24 Frames suggests that since Brosnan’s foreign language skills are non-existent, the film will likely be bilingual affair.
