Summit Entertainment to tackle Tempest

Summit Entertainment has reportedly purchased the rights to forthcoming sci-fi novel Tempest.

The sci-fi book follows a teen who travels back in time and works to prevent his girlfriend’s imminent death. While stuck in the past, he is recruited by a government agency run by a man thought to be his father.

The novel is the first part of a planned trilogy from Cross and publishers St. Martin’s Press and Thomas Dunne Books.

According to Variety, the studio behind Twilight will adapt Julie Cross’s book under the MacMillan Films banner..
