Steve Kloves to Write and Direct DEFENDING JACOB

Writer/director set for legal thriller.

‘Harry Potter’ screenwriter Steve Kloves is in talks to write and direct an adaptation of William Landay’s legal thriller ‘Defending Jacob.’

The novel, published earlier this year, is set in a wealthy Boston suburb and has been described as being in the same vein as ‘Presumed Innocent’ and ‘Ordinary People. It follows “an assistant district attorney who must leave his day job to defend his 14-year-old son from a murder charge while uncertain of his son’s innocence.”

Producer Mary Parent of Disruption Entertainment is overseeing the project.
