Stephen Hawking Biopic THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING Adds Emily Watson, David Thewlis, and More

Eddie Redmayne playing the celebrated physicist…

Emily Watson (‘Anna Karenina’), David Thewlis (‘The Fifth Estate’), Charlie Cox (‘Stardust’), Simon McBurney (‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’), Harry Lloyd (‘The Iron Lady’) and Maxine Peake (‘The Village’) have all joined the cast of James Marsh’s Stephen Hawking biopic ‘The Theory of Everything.’

Starring Eddie Redmayne (‘Les Misérables’) and Felicity Jones (‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’), the film looks at the relationship between Hawking and his first wife, Jane Wilde, who met and fell in love with the theoretical physicist when he was an able-bodied Cambridge student. Despite being diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, which was considered a death sentence, the couple married.

Filming is underway in Cambridge and other locations in the U.K. with Marsh directing from a screenplay by Anthony McCarten (‘Death of a Superhero’), inspired by Wilde’s memoir, ‘Traveling to Infinity: My Life With Stephen.’
