The original Star Wars movies are iconic for many reasons, one of them is the range of toys released that tied in with the film, If you were a child in the late seventies chances are you owned at least one Star Wars action figure. Some entrepreneurial kids even kept their toys in their original packaging and ended up with highly coveted collectors items on their hands.
Many of you might remember this advert from Irish retailer Quinnsworth which featured an appearance from Darth Vader himself.
Disney have recognised that nostalgia for Star Wars toys and are bringing out a brand new line of Toys, collectibles, gadgets, apparel that tie in with ‘The Force Awakens’ this Friday.
Irish Star Wars fans will be amongst the first in the world to get their hands on the goodies at a special event in the Disney Store on Grafton Street. The line-up begins at 20:30 on Friday Sept 4th, with giveaways leading up to midnight. Then at 12:01 a.m., the Disney Store will open its doors for fans to experience its galactic line-up of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
Those that cannot wait until Force Friday midnight openings can get a sneak peek of highlights from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens product collection by tuning in to the global live stream on the Star Wars YouTube channel.
Unfolding over 18 hours in 15 cities and 12 countries, fans can start watching at 10:45 p.m. BST on Sept. 2, and catch Ireland’s live slot at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 3. Where the new products will be unboxed on a global stage, for the very first time. Fans can also start browsing and purchasing the much anticipated line-up of new products online at www.disneystore.ie, starting 12:01 a.m. on 4th September.
