Star Trek scribes tackle Enders Game

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to adapt Orson Scott Card’s novel Ender’s Game…

Star Trek screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have revealed that they are working on an adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s novel Ender’s Game.

The scribing duo are currently attempting to sell the script with the help of director Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and the production company Odd Lot Entertainment (The Spirit).

Orci tweeted the news two days ago, writing: “Ender’s Game! Us(K/O), Oddlot, and Gavin Hood taking his amazing script to the town! Who wants some?”

The story follows Andrew ‘Ender’ Wiggins, a young boy taken to a school to be trained in the art of war in order to fight off an alien invasion by an insectoid race called the Buggers. At the school, Ender is revealed to be a tactical genius.

The film is expected to hit cinemas in 2013.
