Star Trek movie delayed until 2009

You’ll have to wait another year to boldly go where no man has gone before!

Do you want the good news or the bad news first?

The bad news is that Paramount Ireland have been in touch with Movies.ie to let us know that the upcoming ‘Star Trek’ movie is being moved from it’s Christmas 2008 slot to a summer 2009 slot.

The good news is the reason for its delay. They tell us that early footage from the film is so good that they feel it has the potential to be a massive summer blockbuster, rather than just a small Christmas release.

The movie is a reboot of the franchise from ‘Lost’ and ‘Cloverfield’ mastermind JJ Abrams. They tell us Abrams is planning a viral campaign for ‘Star Trek’ that will rival that of ‘Cloverfield’. Watch this space for more on Star Trek.
