Last night at its CinemaCon presentation, Sony Pictures announced ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ as the title for webhead’s 2017 reboot starring British actor Tom Holland.
The Jon Watts-directed film will focus on Peter Parker’s struggles to balance his high school life with his vigilantism. Tom Rothman, head honcho over at Sony Pictures Entertainment, described it as the conflict between “saving the world and getting your algebra homework done at the same time.”
Joining Holland on the cast will be Marisa Tomei (‘The Wrestler,’ ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love.’) as Aunt May, and actress-singer Zendaya.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ marks Holland’s first solo adventure as Spidey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following his debut in ‘Captain America: Civil War.’
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR hits Irish cinemas April 29, 2016.
