‘Deadpool’ star Ryan Reynolds has signed on to produce and star in the video game-inspired action comedy ‘Free Guy,’ with Shawn Levy (‘Night At The Museum,’ Real Steel’) in the director’s chair.
Per Deadline, the Matt Lieberman-scripted project follows a bank teller stuck in his routine who discovers he’s a background character in a rather brutal open world, action-adventure video game and he is the only one capable of saving his world.
Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are on board to produce, alongside Reynolds and his Maximum Effort banner, Levy’s 21 Laps, and Adam Kolbrenner.
