Deadline reports that pre-production has commenced on Ecuadorian director Sebastian Cordero’s contemporary space adventure ‘Europa.’ The cast is made up of Sharlto Copley (‘District 9’), Michael Nyqvist (‘The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo’), Anamaria Marinca (‘4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days’) and Daniel Wu (‘New Police Story’).
Penned by Philip Gelatt, ‘Europa’ is the story of a six-person team of astronauts “from various international space stations who are sent by a private sector corporation to be the first manned mission to Jupiter’s fourth moon.”
The sci-fi is slated to go before cameras in New York in the Autumn with Eugenio Caballero (‘Pan’s Labyrinth’) on board as production designer.
