Actors sign up for buddy cop comedy.
THR reports that ‘The Green Hornet’ star Seth Rogen and Kevin Hart (‘Think Like A Man,’ ‘The Five-Year Engagement’) are attached to lead an untitled action-comedy for Paramount Pictures.
Aiming to be the “original” buddy cop comedy, the film sees Rogen and Hart playing the first (fictional) interracial cop duo in a story set post-World War II, in the late 1940s. The partners go undercover in the jazz scene to bust up a ring involving marijuana.
The comedy is based on a pitch by Rodney Rothman, who will now pen the screenplay. Rothman, Rogen, Hart and Evan Goldberg will produce.
