Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg To Direct CONSOLE WARS

Sega/Nintendo battle heading to the silver screen…

Seth Rogen and regular collaborator Evan Goldberg are to take the helm of ‘Console Wars,’ an adaptation of Blake Harris’ forthcoming novel of the same name that chronicles the battle between ’90s video game giants Sega and Nintendo – and Sony is on board to produce.

The book, set to arrive on bookshelves August 2014, is based on over two hundred interviews with former Sega and Nintendo employees, and chronicles how Sega, “a small, scrappy gaming company led by an unlikely visionary and a team of rebels, took on the juggernaut Nintendo and revolutionized the video game industry.”

Rogen and Goldberg will pen the screenplay, with Scott Rudin (‘Moneyball,’ ‘The Social Network’) producing. Harris is on board to serve as executive producer, and is also co-directing a documentary on the same subject, with Rudin, Rogen and Goldberg producing as well.

Toby Mundy, Atlantic Books’ publisher, commented: ‘Blake Harris’s amazing book has all the narrative drama of the work of Michael Lewis and Ben Mezrich. It should appeal to gamers and non-gamers alike.’
