Multiple outlets are reporting that ‘Horrible Bosses’ and ‘King of Kong’ director Seth Gordon has entered into talks to take the helm of ‘Baywatch,’ the big screen outing of the ‘90s television series about lifeguards.
Dwayne Johnson (‘Furious 7,’ ‘San Andreas’) is on board to headline the project, with plans for an action comedy in the vein of ‘21 Jump Street.’
According to THR, the film sees Johnson playing a by-the-book and very serious lifeguard who is forced to team up with a young rule-flouting hothead in order to save their beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon.”
Production is gearing up for an early 2016 start with Damian Shannon and Mark Swift providing the script.
