Sean Pen is CRAZY FOR THE STORM

Filmmaker circles survival drama.

Sean Penn has entered into talks with Warner Bros. to make the survival drama ‘Crazy for the Storm’ his next directorial project, Variety reports.

Adapted from Norman Ollestad’s 2009 memoir the story revolves “around the author and his relationship with his father and how the skills his father instilled in him helped him survive after a plane crash stranded him on a mountaintop.”

The script by Will Fetters (‘The Lucky One,’ ‘Remember Me’) was on the 2011 Black List of unproduced screenplays.

Bill Gerber is on board to produce via his Gerber Pictures banner along with Fonda Snyder and Rob Weisbach. Penn’s last directed 2007’s ‘Into the Wild,’ also a memoir about a man’s will to survive.
