Bean will hunt criminals in post-apocalyptic flick.
Deadline reports that Sean Bean (‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘The Lord of the Rings’) is attached to star in ‘Scorched Earth,’ a post-apocalyptic actioner that has Brad Turner in the director’s chair.
‘Scorched Earth,’ written by Bobby Mort and Kevin Leeson, is set in the future after an environmental disaster which left billions dead and turned the planet into a ravaged wasteland. Bean will be taking the role of Atticus Gage, a bounty hunter who is very similar to the criminals he hunts. When Gage is presented with the bounty of a lifetime, he cannot resist, and goes off in search of the most wanted criminal in these badlands.
The film marks the feature directorial debut of Turner. The award-winning director has over 200 TV episodes under his belt with series that include ‘Homeland,’ ’24,’ ‘Nikita,’ ‘Bones’ and ‘Pysch.’
Bean will next be seen starring in the Michael J. Bassett-directed sequel ‘Silent Hill: Revelation 3D’ when it arrives in cinemas in October.
