Screenwriter Hired for Sci-Fi Tale ROME, SWEET ROME

High concept time travel tale hires scribe.

According to a report over at Variety, Warner Bros. has hired ‘Apollo 18’ screenwriter Brian Miller to tackle the script for a high-concept sci-fi feature titled ‘Rome, Sweet Rome.’

The project is based on first-time scribe James Erwin’s three part short story that originated on Reddit.com. Erwin penned the tale in response to fellow user The_Quiet_Earth’s hypothetical question: “What if a unit of U.S. Marines are transported back in time and forced to do battle with Roman legions?” Warner Bros. acquired the rights to Erwin’s story back in 2011 before it had been finished.

‘Rome, Sweet Rome’ will be produced by Adam Kolbrenner of Madhouse Entertainment with Hollywood Gang’s Gianni Nunnari and Safe House Pictures duo Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold. Robyn Meisinger of Madhouse will serve as executive producer.
