Scott Waugh to Direct Robin Hood Film MERRY MEN

Helmer to tackle Robin Hood re-imagining.

‘Act Of Valour’ co-director Scott Waugh has reportedly signed on to take the director’s chair for ‘Merry Men,’ a revisionist take on the tale of Robin Hood that will be scripted by Brad Ingelsby (‘Out of the Furnace,’ ‘Run All Night’).

The film has been described to Deadline as “a tentpole re-imagining” of the Robin Hood legend with the film eyed as around the supporting characters Little John, Friar Tuck, Maid Marian and Will Scarlet. In addition, the film will feature a high-concept revenge angle that tonally is reminiscent of films like ‘The Dirty Dozen’ and ‘Ocean’s Eleven.’

‘Merry Men’ will be produced by Waugh through his Bandito Bros banner along with Neal Moritz (‘Fast Five’) and Toby Ascher of Original Film.
