Scott McCloud’s THE SCULPTOR to Get Big-Screen Adaptation

Uber-producer Scott Rudin involved with adaptation…

THR is reporting that Sony Pictures has scored the rights ‘The Sculptor,’ the latest offering from cartoonist and comics theorist Scott McCloud.

McCloud’s first work of fiction in over 20 years, the tale centres David Smith, a young artist who makes a deal with Death for his childhood wish: to sculpt anything he can imagine with his bare hands. Now that he only has 200 days to live, deciding what to create is harder than he thought, and discovering the love of his life at the eleventh hour isn’t making it any easier.

Producing powerhouse Scott Rudin (‘The Grand Budapest Hotel,’ ‘Captain Phillips,’ ‘No Country For Old Men,’ ‘Moneyball’) is on board to co-produce with Josh Bratman (‘Fright Night’).
