Derrickson remaking supernatural thriller with Theron.
Charlize Theron (‘Young Adult’) has signed up to produce and star in a remake of the Dutch horror thriller ‘Zwart Water’ with writer-director Scott Derrickson (‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’) attached to helm.
The story centers on a nine-year girl who discovers that her new imaginary friend is not only sinister but is also the ghost of mother’s dead twin. Theron is attached to play the mother, who is not quite right in the head.
Derrickson co-wrote the script with ‘Exorcism of Emily Rose’ collaborator Paul Boardman.
