Scott Cooper and Leonardo DiCaprio Take THE ROAD HOME

Pair set for Depression-era drama.

Deadline’s Mike Fleming has word that ‘Crazy Heart’ helmer Scott Cooper has signed on to write, direct and produce an adaptation of the Michael Armour’s forthcoming novel, ‘The Road Home,’ with Leonardo DiCaprio in line to star.

The novel, recently acquired by Warner Bros., is “a Depression-era drama that focuses on Creek, a war-scarred rancher on the Central California coast who finds himself entangled in scandal when he is asked to investigate the brutal murder of a local man, a case that local police have swept under the rug.”

DiCaprio will produce ‘The Road Home’ with Jennifer Davisson Killoran’s via their Appian Way production banner. The partner’s recently teamed with Cooper on his revenge thriller ‘Out of the Furnace.’
