Will produce and star in the Black List project.
According to Variety, Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed on to star in the Henry Hobson-directed zombie flick ‘Maggie.’
Based on John Scott III’s 2011 Black List script, the film tells a father-daughter relationship story via a zombie tale. As a “walking dead” virus spreads across America, a farm family helps their eldest daughter come to terms with her infection as she slowly becomes a flesh-eating zombie.
‘Kick-Ass 2’ and ‘Carrie’ star Chloë Moretz and actor/filmmaker Paddy Considine had been in talks to lead the project but ultimately passed due to scheduling conflicts.
In addition to playing the girl’s father, Schwarzenegger will produce the horror-infused tale with Pierre-Ange Le Pogam, Matt Baer, Trevor Kaufman, Colin Bates and Joey Tufaro. Silver Reel and Lotus Entertainment are partnering with Silverlining Media Group and Gold Star films to produce and finance.
