French filmmaker Luc Besson (‘The Lady,’ ‘The Fifth Element,’ ‘Léon’) is teaming with Scarlett Johansson on the upcoming action-thriller ‘Lucy.’
Per THR, Johansson would be a woman forced to become a drug mule. But the drug instead goes into her system, transforming her into an ass-kicking machine. She can absorb knowledge instantaneously, is able to move objects with her mind and can’t feel pain and other discomforts.
Besson, who recently wrapped production on the ‘Malavita,’ which stars Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones, will direct ‘Lucy’ from his own screenplay.
The plans is for ‘Lucy’ to shoot after Johansson finishes up on Marvel’s ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ in which she reprises her role as deadly assassin Black Widow.
