Scarlett Johansson, Lea Michele, Evan Rachel Wood & Taylor Swift Up for LES MISERABLES

Four actresses vying for highly coveted role.

According to the New York Post, Scarlett Johansson, ‘Glee’ star Lea Michele, Evan Rachel Wood (‘The Wrestler’) and singer-turned-actress Taylor Swift (‘Valentine’s Day’) have all auditioned for the role of Éponine in Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper’s big-screen adaptation of ‘Les Misérables.’

The trade’s sources say that Johansson’s acting talent and the fact “she can really sing” is being considered, while Michele – who played a young Cosette in the Broadway show – “knocked it out of the park” in a recent performance for Hooper. Wood’s acting chops and “indie cred,” along with her killer singing voice has kept her in the mix. But Swift, who can definitely sing, has limited screen experience.

Whichever actress lands the role, will be joining Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Geoffrey Rush and Eddie Redmayne.
