Sam Rockwell Circles POLTERGEIST Remake

We have a reason not to hate this reboot.

TheWrap is hearing that Sam Rockwell (‘Seven Psychopaths,’ ‘Moon’) is in talks to star opposite Rosemarie DeWitt (‘Touchy Feely,’ ‘Promised Land’) in the upcoming Sam Raimi-produced “revisionist take” on Tobe Hooper’s 1982 ‘Poltergeist.’

With Gil Kenan (‘City of Ember,’ ‘Monster House’) set to direct from a script by ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ scribe David Lindsay-Abaire, the film centres on the Bowens, “a family whose lives are uprooted when youngest daughter Madison is abducted by supernatural forces that trap her in the netherworld between life and death.”

According to the site, Rockwell is intrigued by the prospect of a lead role in a movie produced by Raimi, but the deal is far from done as the actor is “weighing several movie offers.”

Raimi is producing the reboob with Ghost House Pictures partner Rob Tapert (‘The Posession’), along with Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee (‘The Strangers’).
