Russell Brand in Talks for Larry Charles-Directed Comedy PIERRE PIERRE

Brand may replace Carrey as lead.

According to Variety, the Larry Charles-directed comedy ‘Pierre Pierre’ has found a new leading man. The long-in-development project, originally set up with Jim Carrey set to star, is now reportedly looking to nab Russell Brand for the lead.

The raunchy comedy follows “an obnoxious French nihilist (Brand) who transports a stolen painting from Paris to London. Along the way he crosses paths with a French police inspector, a serial killer named Pigeonshit and his own brothel-owning mother.”

Featured on the 2007 Black List, the script was penned by Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton.
