Rufus Sewell Joins Virginia Gilbert’s HELEN

Film marks Gilbert’s second directorial effort.

Irish writer-director Virginia Gilbert has cast Rufus Sewell (‘Dark City,’ ‘A Knight’s Tale,’ ‘Zen’) in her next feature, the child abuse drama ‘Helen’ reports Variety.

Set in Paris, the film centres on David (Sewell), a divorced 40-year-old man who lives with his 12-year-old daughter Helen. One day, the girl announces that her mother’s new husband has molested her.

The film will be produced by Ireland’s Grand Pictures and France’s 1.85 Films and Chic Films. Gilbert is currently in post production on her directorial debut, the romantic drama ‘A Long Way From Home.’
