Ronan, Vikander & Wilde to Test for CINDERELLA Lead

Trio eye live-action remake.

Variety has word that Saoirse Ronan (‘Atonement’), Swedish actress Alicia Vikander (‘Anna Karenina’) and British actress Gabriella Wilde (‘The Three Musketeers’) are all set to test for the lead in Mark Romanek’s live-action ‘Cinderella.’

The revisionist take on the classic fairytale was penned by Aline Brosh McKenna (‘The Devil Wears Prada’) and Chris Weitz, and follows a prince who is set for “a politically arranged marriage, until the plan is threatened when the prince meets Cinderella.” ‘Les Misérables’ star Amanda Seyfried was linked to the title role when the project was first announced two years ago.

As we revealed last week, Cate Blanchett, who previously worked with Ronan on 2011’s ‘Hanna,’ is in negotiations for the role of Cinderella’s iconic evil stepmother.

Simon Kinberg (‘Elysium’) is producing the project, which is set up over at Walt Disney Pictures.
