Ron Howard to Direct Jennifer Lawrence in Zelda Fitzgerald Biopic

Jennifer Lawrence has signed on to portray Jazz Age icon Zelda Fitzgerald in an untitled biopic, with Ron Howard (‘Inferno,’ ‘In the Heart of the Sea’) in talks to direct.

Per THR, the film is based on a screenplay by ‘The White Queen’ scribe Emma Frost and centres on Zelda Fitzgerald, the wife of author ‘The Great Gatsby’ author F. Scott Fitzgerald and his indispensable muse and fiercest competitor. Desperate to define herself through her own art, the film explores the question: Can love exist between creative equals?

In addition to headlining, Lawrence will produce the biopic with partner Justine Ciarrocchi. Allison Shearmur, who worked with Lawrence on ‘The Hunger Games,’ and Brian Oliver (‘Hacksaw Ridge’) are co-producing.

Lawrence will next be seen in opposite Chris Pratt in the Morten Tyldum-directed ‘Passengers’ when it opens in Irish cinemas December 23rd.
