Cecelia Ahern adaptation nabs leads.
Variety is reporting that Lily Collins (‘Mirror Mirror,’ ‘Priest’) and Sam Claflin (‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,’ ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’) have been cast as the leads in romantic comedy ‘Love, Rosie.’
Based on Cecelia Ahern’s second novel ‘Where Rainbows End,’ the story follows Rosie Dunne (Collins), whose plans to attend university in America with her best friend, Alex (Claflin), go awry when she discovers she is pregnant after a night out with the most popular boy in school. Over twelve years the friends’ connection remains despite the changes in their lives.
The screenplay was penned by ’Calendar Girls’ screenwriter Juliette Towhidi. Production is scheduled to kick off in May with Christian Ditter directing.
