Could we be seeing a reboot of the underrated gem?
Vulture is hearing word that Walt Disney Pictures is in the process of developing a reboot of Joe Johnston’s 1991 comic book adaptation ‘The Rocketeer.’
Based on the independent comic series by the late Dave Stevens, the thirties-set adventure film followed Cliff Secord (played by Billy Campbell), a young stunt pilot who stumbles onto a prototype jetpack that allows him to become a high flying masked hero. The film co-starred Alan Arkin, Jennifer Connelly, Timothy Dalton, and Terry O’Quinn.
While Disney has yet to confirm the rumours, Vulture’s sources are claiming that the studio will soon meet with writers to discuss pitches for the reboot.
