Underworld drama locks in the screen legend.
Variety reports that Robert De Niro has closed a deal to join (‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,’ ‘The Great Gatsby,’ ‘Zero Dark Thirty’) and Omar Sy (‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ ‘The Intouchables’) on the cast of writer/director Stephen Gaghan’s next, ‘Candy Store.’
A character driven thriller, the film is set in the criminal underworld in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn and follows a former covert ops agent (Clark) who discovers the organization he was dedicated to fighting is now operating in his new backyard.
De Niro will take the role of a disgraced local cop, with whom Clarke teams with in order to stop a threat that could endanger the city of New York.
