Robert De Niro and John Travolta to Co-Star in KILLING SEASON

Back in March it was reported that ‘Face Off’ co-stars, Nicolas Cage and John Travolta were set to reteam for an action thriller titled ‘Shrapnel.’ Well it appears some things have changed since then.

A press release for the film has revealed that the title has been changed to ‘Killing Season,’ and that Cage is no longer attached to co-star with Travolta. Replacing Cage will be Robert De Niro, with Mark Steven Johnson (‘Ghost Rider,’ ‘Daredevil’) on board to direct.

Penned by Evan Daugherty (‘Snow White and the Huntsman’) the screenplay is set in the Appalachian Mountains and centers on an American military veteran (De Niro) who has retreated to a remote cabin in the woods. When a rare visitor, a European tourist (Travolta), appears on the scene, the two men strike up an unlikely friendship. But in fact the visitor is a former Serbian soldier bent on revenge. What follows is a tense, action packed battle across some of America’s most forbidding landscape that proves the old adage: the purest form of war is one-on-one.

‘Killing Season’ is slated to begin production in January. Nu Image/Millennium has released a promotional sales poster for the upcoming American Film Market.
